Addressing Random Variations in MWD Penetration Rate with the DPM Algorithm

Measurement While Drilling (MWD) is an in situ technique for the assessment of ground conditions. It records drilling parameters a machine when its drill bit penetrating into new geomaterials below bottom hole. Its penetration rate along hole depth, however, has various random variations. Such variations are inconsistent with fact that have piece-wise homogeneity. Many methods been adopted to filter and normalize characterization. However, they not completely resolved issue obtained homogeneous distribution ground. This paper uses time-series algorithm Process Monitoring (DPM) remove MWD rate. further obtains constant newly addressed DPM depth. With this algorithm, consistent property distribution. Consequently, can be used characterize strength depth substantially upgrade investigation.
